Well, I rode Rosie today...That was...an experience....A scary experience. I remember when I got her...That was two years ago...I was so excited, now I am excited to get rid of her. I had wanted a horse. I already had a horse, Joy. But Joy was not really rideable. She was a grumpy old horse. Daddy agreed that I could get a horse. We looked for a while.
The first horse I tried out was a quarter horse gelding named Henry. He was about twenty years old. He was a little grumpy, but pretty good. I was looking for a horse that I could canter (lope), so I decided to try cantering him. The first time I tried, he just did a very fast trot. The second time, I thought for a split second that I had the canter, but I realized he was bucking...Like in a rodeo. I decided to let go, and fell off. I was more scared than hurt. We weren't gonna get that horse!
That night I tried another horse. He was a Thoroughbred named Shnooky. He was very tall. Daddy, Anna and I tried him. They both liked him, but I thought he was a little too strong headed for me. Seeing as I was the one that would be getting the horse, Daddy didn't make me get him.
The third one. LMS Lady's Rosebud. daughter of the world champion reigner Twin Pond Disco Kid. 14 years old. We tried her out. She was E X C E L L E N T ! I really really wanted her. At the Orleans County Fair on Friday of that year, Mom told me Dad said yes! I was so happy! In August, she arrived...From the very start, she was very high strung. It was not till a couple months later that we realized she had been drugged when we tried her out, making her very layed back and obedient. And now we have a very high strung horse on our hands, that we are trying to sell.
In August of 2013, I began riding Joy. The other horses had put her in her place, so I was able to build a relationship with Joy. I loved her immensely for those few more months I had with her. I am so glad I got to spend time with Joy. She was the best horse I have ever met, and will ever meet.
