Why Not Tattoos?
Why don't we, as Christians, get tattoos? Leviticus 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord. 1 Peter 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. We are a chosen generation. God is talking to the Christians in 1 Peter 2:9. We should be a peculiar people. We are to be a light in the darkness of this world. We should stand out in the world...Be strange. If we have tattoos, or doing what the world does, we aren't being peculiar or different. We're fitting in, and that's not what God wants.
