Well, as of May 30, 2014 our favorite rooster Frenchy, (aka French Fry or Crunchy) passed away. He was at least 7 or 8 years old. VERY old for a chicken. He was very smart for a chicken too. During the summers, he learned that spending the nights in the chicken coop was not smart, because foxes found their way into it, so, Frenchy began sleeping in the tree next to mom and dad's bedroom window, where he was always safe. Frenchy's feathers were pure white, and Dad said he had very sharp spurs. Towards the end of his life, a growth formed on his face. We weren't sure if it was cancer. Dad said that he heard once that hydrogen peroxide worked to get rid of cancer works. He thought we should expirment with it on Frenchy. It would either help him, or kill him, and we knew he was in his last days, so we had nothing to lose. We poured the hydrogen peroxide on the growth. Frenchy didn't like that. About a week went by without a change, then one day Frenchy was not well at all. Dad repeated the treatment, though we knew nothing was going to save him. After two days of not moving, but hanging in there, Dad put Frenchy out of his misery. Now Frenchy will rest under his tree forever. R.I.P. Frenchy
